|
Orchos Tzadikim is a classic book of ethics, written by an anonymous author of Ashkenazic origin in the 14th century under the original title of Sefer Middos. We are proud to present the first edition of this sefer, published in Prague in 1581, along with a new section, never before published, called "Simanei Sefer ha-Middos" which has been recovered from the earliest extant manuscript of this sefer, held at the Warsaw University Library (Ms. 258), and is published here with the library's permission. Publication of the Simanim includes an image of the part of the manuscript itself, a line-by-line typed transcription, and a newly edited version by Seth Kadish. The Simanim are a short summary of the chapters of the book, meant for daily review, and which the anonymous author apparently referred to at the end of Shaar HaZechirah.
